The insider tip

Choosing your spotto sleep in Cassis

Cassis is a small harbour of charm, nestled between the vineyards, Cap Canaille and the calanques. The village is walkable: wherever you sleep, the essentials are just a few minutes away, without a car.

Boutique hotels, guesthouses, holiday rentals or apartments: the choice is varied, but the good addresses go fast, especially in summer. Book early and aim for the harbour if you want to live it all on foot.

Our advice: choose the location first, then the comfort. Sleeping near the quay means waking up facing the sea and reaching the terraces, the beaches and the boats in an instant.

The areas

Where to dropyour bags in Cassis

Every corner of Cassis has its own mood. Here's how to choose depending on what you're after: the buzz of the harbour, the calm of the village or the nature of the heights.

  • 01

    On the harbour

In the heart of the buzz, facing the boats and the terraces. You wake up with the view and reach everything on foot — it's the liveliest area, and ours.

  • 02

    In the village

The old lanes, the squares and the shops just steps away. A fine balance between calm and proximity, ideal to discover Cassis without a car.

  • 03

    Towards the hills & calanques

Quieter, between vines and nature, at the start of the trails. Perfect for lovers of the open air, as long as you don't mind walking a little more.

Choosing well

Hotel, rental orsea-view apartment?

The type of accommodation depends on your stay. For a night or two, a hotel or guesthouse offers service and simplicity. For a week with family or friends, a rental or apartment gives more freedom — a kitchen, a living room, and the feeling of living in the village.

The season matters too. In high summer, Cassis is in great demand: book several weeks ahead and favour the harbour if you want to avoid the car. In spring and autumn, the atmosphere is gentler, the prices kinder and the calanques quieter.
